Final LACB30 SITREP
The 30th Last Annual Crusader Ball is now another great memory in the F-8 Crusader legacy. Over 200 guests, the world’s greatest fighter pilots and their ladies, came together in beautiful San Diego for a terrific reunion of great friends and sharing of great stories. Your LACB30 Planning Committee thanks you for making all our work and effort worthwhile. Each year it becomes a bit more of a challenge to make the trek to another LACB but I’m sure each of us who puts forth the effort leaves knowing it was worth it. This year was no exception.
There were just a very few minor hiccups but all the events came off close to perfect. The Gunfighter Happy Hour, the airshow, high tea, golf and especially the Saturday night ball were all enjoyed by all. It was a genuine honor to have former CNO Admiral Tom Hayward join us. The F-8 Ready Room was especially popular serving San Miguel beer. That’s memory from about 50 years ago.

The Board of Directors continues to evaluate all the recommendations for LACB31. There are many factors to consider to make the next LACB attractive and do-able for as many as possible. Your San Diego planning group will continue to offer its experience and expertise to help. Another boost for our community has been the sponsors who have stepped up like USAA and Martin-Baker. Their continued support will make future LACBs all the more possible and enjoyable.
